“Students united, we’ll never be divided!”
Students from California community colleges all united on March 3, 2014 for the event March in March: Classroom to the Capitol held in Sacramento, California. The student leaders participated in a march to the Capitol building, making their voices heard with chants and signs for wanted changes within education. Additionally, the student advocates were given the opportunity to meet with state legislatures to make direct call-to-actions.
I am so grateful for being given this opportunity to attend March in March to represent the Associated Students of Cypress, as well as covering this event for the Cypress Chronicle. It was an amazing experience participating with other community college students in unity to fight for our education! I had a meeting with everyone who had attended March in March this week, and we discussed everything we learned and how we plan to apply it on campus.
