The transfer applications for students planning to transfer for fall 2027 to all University of California schools or California State Universities are now open.
Applications began Oct. 1 and will run until Nov. 30. Students planning to transfer must have a GPA over 2.0 and a grade C or better in all transferable and general education courses. Students are also required to fulfill the lower division general education requirements prescribed by the transfer institution and complete a minimum of 60 transferable units in order to apply to four-year colleges
To assist students, the Transfer Center is currently holding in-person and online workshops to help fill out their applications.
For UC campuses, in-person workshops are on Wednesday, Oct. 14 at 3 p.m., Monday, Oct. 19 at 1 p.m., and Tuesday, Nov. 24 at 5 p.m. Online workshops are on Wednesday, Oct. 28 at 2:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 6 at 11 a.m., and Monday, Nov. 16 at 3 p.m.
For CSU campuses, in-person workshops are on Monday, Oct. 26 at 2 p.m., Monday, Nov. 2 at 12 p.m., and Wednesday, Nov. 18 at 4:30 p.m. Online workshops are on Wednesday, Oct. 21 at 4:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 5 at 1 p.m., and Friday, Nov. 13 at 11 a.m.
Grace Ruiz, Student Services Specialist at the Transfer Center, said students should be applying early since it’s a year-long process. She also said her favorite thing to tell students who are planning to transfer is to apply widely and not hold themselves back from different opportunities.
“You know, of course apply to that one institution that you really want to get into,” said Ruiz. “Apply to an institution that feels like a safe institution to you, but also think about other campuses too.”
All in-person workshops will be held at the Transfer Center, located on the second floor in the Student Center. All online workshops will be held through Zoom where students must sign up to receive the Zoom link. Students may also set up appointments with a counselor if needed. The Transfer/Pre-Graduation & Job Fair will take place Thursday, Oct. 29 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. near the pond.
