It’s that time of year again.
The Cypress Chronicle went around talking to students about their Final Pre-Rituals. We wanted to know if theirs something they do out of the ordinary compared to any other test day.
P.K , 22 English major, says “Well, before a final, it sounds kind of funny but I usually just leave town for a few days.”P.K. says it’s more of a vacation. “I go to Vegas and just party my butt off then come back refreshed. It calms me down. Staying local just stresses me out.”
Students like Kevin Tran, 19,does things a little different and last minute.
“My Pre Ritual, is sleeping in for 12 hours and just cramming in everything 5 minutes before class. I tend to procrastinate a lot.”
Charles Viles, 28, has been in and out of school for nearly 10 years and says he’s had a hard time finding ways to study. Recently, he found one one that actually helps him study, even though it is a little bizarre.
“I’d watch the same over and over 15 times. The movie title doesn’t matter, as long as it’s interesting. I would like pull out what I need in front of me and just go straight to work. It helps me study right. I’m trying to transfer out ASAP, so yeah, that actually has been helping me study before a final.”
Mark Torres, 26 of LA Fitness in Cerritos, says students should eat well weeks before a final and exercise.
“I believe it’ll help one get use that hard week of studying. Digesting plenty of healthy food, getting plenty of rest and plenty exercise will definitely help your body get ready for the big day. Students will stay up late and if you have been already getting sleep, eating and exercising the week before, then it’ll be a piece of cake.”
Whatever your Final Pre-Ritual is, make sure it helps you actually study. Even you make a trip out to Vegas or have to watch the same movie 15 times, make sure you are focused and studying. We wish all of our Cypress Students the best of luck this week on their finals and we hope this information will serve you well.
