Ever wanted to help out the community but never knew how?
Well, Cypress College is pleased to announce their fourth annual Donate a Day of Service. On Oct. 2, come down to Cypress College and head over to the bridge over the pond.
The event will be held from noon to 2 p.m., where faculty, staff and students will join together to show their commitment to the college on and off campus. It is possible for clubs to even host a service booth themselves!
“Our desired outcome is to raise awareness of students to volunteer opportunities both on campus as well as in the community and encouraging good citizenship. We have asked for the participation of campus clubs to sponsor a service table or share service projects that they have participated in as a club. ”
This event is being sponsored by Associated Students and The Honors and Service Learning Program. Feel free to contact Kathryn T. Sonne, Honors program director at ksonne@cypresscollege.edu or give her a call at 714-484-7452.
“We have invited several non-profit agencies to participate such as Habitat for Humanity, The Tiger Woods Learning Center, Boys and Girls Clubs of Cypress, the Orange County Food Bank and the YMCA. The Career Center will also share information on careers in non-profits. Students will also be planting flowers on campus, giving blood at the blood drive and creating sidewalk art promoting service. AS and Honors are working on this collaboratively. Lunch will also be provided to those that participate,” shares Sonne.
