On Feb. 4 and 5, 2020, Cypress College hosted Club Rush by the breezeway. Various clubs and organizations featured eye-catching display boards, flags, and colorful posters to break the ice and encourage students to get involved in extracurriculars.
The Random Acts of Kindness Club has a team oriented environment where every club member feels included. “It’s a team effort group, where everyone has a say on how they would like to contribute. We host beach cleanups, tree plantings, and community service projects,” Henna Noor, Club President stated. Circle K International Club offers students the opportunity to network in social leadership workshops and have also awarded scholarships to many students. “We have so much fun, I met all my best friends here!” Club member Krystal Phaan said. The club meets on Tuesdays from 2:30-3:30 p.m. in Humanities 225.
The American Sign Language Club or ASL raises awareness about the Deaf community. ASL club member Olivia McCracken stated, “It’s not just for those who looking to gain a career in American Sign Language. I came in last semester just to learn about their community and to be able to interact and connect with people.” ASL Club meets every Wednesday at 2:30 p.m in Humanities 303
The Queer Straight Alliance or QSA was formerly known as the LGBTQ+ Club. QSA club members come together to form a fun, safe space to hang out and talk about current issues that happen in the community. QSA meets on Thursdays from 4-5 p.m in Humanities 327.
From Incarcerated to Empowered Club or F.I.T.E Club has provided resources and information to help support and empower the lives of students by with leadership skills. F.I.T.E Club meets every other Monday from 1-3 p.m and every other Friday from 12:30 p.m-1:30 p.m on the 2nd floor patio of the Business Building.
