The Cypress College Career Center will host its annual Career Fair for all students on Tuesday, April 22, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Gateway Plaza. Attending the event will allow students to connect with local employers and learn about internship opportunities.
Career Center staff and counselors will be available to help students with their networking skills and look over student resumes beforehand during their Career Fair Prep Days on April 14 through April 17 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Career Center in the Cypress College Complex Building (CCCPLX) Room 215.
Students are also encouraged to visit the Career Closet, where they can pick and choose one complete professional outfit (blazer, shirt, bottom, and pair of shoes) once every semester that students can wear to the Career Fair or for any formal event, such as a job interview.
A career kit will be given to the first 200 students in attendance; the kit includes mints, hand sanitizer, bottled water, and a promotional item, all inside a tote bag.
Career Center Coordinator, Angela Sardan, said, “This event will help students gain experience and exposure to their career goals.” Offering these events to students allows them to learn about the different opportunities they have to choose from as they establish their interests.
A professional photographer will be available to take photos of students for their LinkedIn profiles. Sardan also said, “Job opportunities will be posted to our online job board Handshake.”
She stated that 50 businesses are attending, but more are likely to join as the event nears.
