After a hot summer break, Cypress College welcomed back new and returning students to campus on Aug. 26 for the fall semester. As the semester begins and students settle into their routines, Cypress demonstrates the various ways they are providing students with basic needs services.
Below is a list of the existing and new services Cypress will be providing every enrolled student.
The Charger Book Pass
Students are automatically enrolled in the Charger Book Pass Program, this program allows for all of a student’s required textbook-related course materials to be covered for $100 per semester. If a student prefers not to participate in the program, they must opt out by Monday, Sept. 9. Learn more about the program on the Charger Book Pass page on the Cypress College Website.
The Charger Food Pass
This pass allows all fall-registered students access to a $12 daily gift card they can use at the Charger Cafe to purchase food items throughout their day on campus. Students must pick up their gift card during the first two weeks of classes and then hold on to the pass until the end of the semester. Changes to this program may occur as the semester continues and technology expands.
The Bus Pass
Cypress College partnered with the Orange County Transportation Authority to provide students with unlimited free access to OC Bus fixed routes throughout the semester. To access this pass students have to download the OC Bus app and create an account with their school e-mail. For any questions about this service, contact Student Life and Leadership. A reminder that according to the Campus Safety office, starting this semester, students will be required to pay $40 for a physical parking pass.
Some other services that Cypress College offers its students include the food pantry, diaper pantry, lactation pods, CalWorks application support, mental and physical health services, financial aid, transfer, and academic support services.
For more information about these services visit the Cypress College website and the specific service web pages.
