Most sneaker heads consider the Jordan 11 the most coveted shoe of all time, but nobody has ever met the Nike Air Mag. Considered the most futuristic and tech savvy shoe in its time, the shoe itself is all grey with hits of white, and turquoise. What makes the shoes unique and the first of it’s kind is the LED lights that are built in the heel, and the first shoe to ever feature power lace straps; instead of manually tying the shoes, you just slip your foot in, and the automatic power lace straps do the tying for you. The whole world witnessed the Air Mags in “Back to the Future Part 2″ with the main character Marty McFly rocking the very futuristic kicks. The Air Mags did release in 2011, but they were for online bidding only and all proceeds went to the Michael J. Fox foundation for Parkinson’s disease. The highest bidding for the shoes went up to $9,959. Nike senior shoe designer Tinker Hatfield confirmed that the Air Mags will indeed be released this year but no confirmed date was given. Even though these shoes may not be released in the summer, Nike may pull the rug from all of our feet and release it during the dog days of summer.
