Students seeking access to federal student loans are required to attend a loan orientation at Cypress College. The orientations are hosted by the Financial Aid Department and can be attended either online or in person. They are designed to educate students about what loans are and how to use them responsibly.
Dates for these orientations are listed on the Cypress College website under the “Types of Aid” page in the loans section. There are no in-person orientations scheduled for the remainder of the semester. However, students interested in the online option can attend sessions on Nov. 6 and Nov. 13, from 2 to 3 p.m.
Students can sign up for either of these sessions by calling the Financial Aid Office at (714) 484-7114 or by emailing financialaid@cypresscollege.edu. After signing up, students will learn about loan eligibility and long-term financial planning.
Following completion of the orientation, students must complete entrance counseling, sign a master promissory note at studentaid.gov, and submit a direct loan request form provided by Cypress College.
For more information, students can visit the Financial Aid Office Monday through Thursday between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. The office can also be contacted remotely on Fridays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Students are encouraged to complete their loan applications promptly to avoid missing deadlines during the semester.
