For students looking for a quick bite between classes, the area surrounding Cypress College is getting a few new additions. LJ’s and McDonald’s are among the businesses expected to bring more food options within a short distance of campus.
LJ’s Lil Cafe is located near Valley View Street and Orange Avenue. The business is aiming to open this fall, although an official opening date has not yet been set.
LJ’s Lil Cafe said it is currently waiting on approvals from several departments and expects to have a better idea once those are completed. The business said the opening could be within a few weeks to two months and currently is in construction.
Students also have another familiar option nearby. A second McDonald’s location has opened near Cypress College, giving students another quick dining option in the surrounding area.
McDonald’s replaced the former Imperial Burgers location at 6201 Lincoln Ave. The restaurant features a dual-lane drive thru and gives Cypress College students another quick dining option near campus.

Both locations add to the growing number of food choices surrounding Cypress College. For students with limited time between classes, having more restaurants nearby can make it easier to grab a meal without going too far from campus.
