Its time to lace up those ice skates and hit the rink!
The LA Kings Holiday Ice rink will be opening to the public once again for the holiday celebrations. The Rink will reopen on Nov. 29 and remain open until Dec. 31.
The holidays are near and what better way to get into the Christmas spirit than to go ice skating with friends and family. The annual ice rink brings the outdoors to The Nokia Plaza L.A Live in Downtown LA. Skaters are abe to skate around a huge lit up Christmas tree and enjoy some holiday music. Brianna Herrera, 19, Licensed Aesthetician, said ” I have never been. But I would love to take my son and boyfriend, to have a fun family outing.”
General admission (includes ice skate rental) $13 per person, children under five years are eight dollars and Military and Seniors (with ID) are eight dollars per person. Don’t worry if your forgot your socks, they are available for purchase for four dollars. Brittany Escalante, 23, said, “The price is right. For a fun night out with friends and some holiday music, count me in.”
Driving all the way out to Downtown may be a truck, but one can make a night out of it. Some surrounding restaurants offer a deal that includes dinner and ice skating for a reasonable price. The Supper and Skate deal includes a dinner at either Lawry’s Carvery , Rock’N Fish and Trader Vic’s, Ice Skating and skate rental. The package is $30 for adults and $20 for children.
Amanda Juarez, 21, public relations major, ” The last time I went Ice Skating I was in High School.” But now that Juarez is aware of this hot spot for the Holidays. “I definitely will get my friends together and make a date out of it, it sounds like a great way to celebrate the holidays.”
The hours of operation are Nov. 30 through Dec. 15; Monday- Friday 5 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 3 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Dec. 16 through Dec. 31 4 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. daily. Dec 24 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
