The Cypress College Health and Wellness Center offers a full-service clinic that provides a Family Practice/Internal Medicine Physician, Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, Registered Nurse, Psychologist, and MFCC Therapist.
According to the Student Health and Wellness Center, almost all services are covered by student health fees. These services include first aid and emergency care, diagnosis, and treatment of acute illness. Treatment includes medication if needed.
The Center also provides health assessments including blood pressure screenings, family planning services, and immunization for Tetanus, Hepatitis B, and Seasonal Flu. Testing for Tuberculosis (PPDs) and Quantiferon Gold Testing.
Personal health counseling referrals and psychological counseling services are also provided for students who are struggling with their mental health. Laboratory services can also be done at the Health and Wellness Center, including but not limited to Pap smear testing, STD screening, Pregnancy testing, and Cholesterol screening.
The Dental Hygiene Clinic is a program where students who are part of the program get to have a learning experience on checking teeth and how to properly care for their clients. The clinic does provide care for children, but throughout the entire appointment, a parent or a legal guardian has to be inside the facility until the service has finished.
According to the Cypress College website under Dental Hygiene Clinic, the first screening appointment is limited, and only a medical/dental history and a cursory soft/hard tissue exam will be performed at this time. No fee is charged for the screening appointment. After the screening appointment, the patient will be advised of the treatment they need, the number of appointments, and the estimated fee.
Dental hygiene care appointments will vary with the individual oral condition. Since students are performing the services, the appointment will be supervised by a professional and the services will count towards their clinical hours. Appointments are in higher demand through this clinic and fill up quickly.
The Dental Hygiene Clinic is located in the Tech ED III Building, room 305. Appointments may be scheduled in person at the dental clinic during clinic hours or by calling (714)-484-7296. Parking is available in Parking Lot 3 in patient-marked spaces only or in Parking Lot 4 in the student spaces with a parking permit or the dental patient parking permit.
The Clinic is open during the fall semester beginning in early September and closes in mid-December on Mondays from 8 a.m. through 12 p.m., Tuesdays from 8 a.m. through 12 p.m. and 1 through 5 p.m., and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. through 12:30 p.m.
