Cypress and Fullerton College are offering classes around the world through the Study Abroad program taking trips to Lisbon, Costa Rica, Dublin, Italy, and London. Applications are open for students to apply and get questions answered about each location.
The Study Abroad Program first started in 1987 at NOCCCD, Cypress and Fullerton College are some of the few community colleges that offer The Study Abroad program and more than 33% of the student body attend a semester with the program.
“One of the biggest things that we encourage students when it comes to doing study abroad program is not only doing it as an academic opportunity but also taking the chance to get outside of their comfort zone,” said The Study Abroads Programs administrative assistant, Carina Valencia.
The program is implementing opportunities for students to get a certificate in collaboration with CTE programs. They are traveling to destinations that resonate with a certificate program.
Fullerton and Cypress College get together and hold workshops to give students information on the cost, eligibility, and requirements for the upcoming trip. If you can’t make it to one there are two sessions, one at Fullerton College and the other at Cypress.
It does require students to have completed a full semester either at Cypress or Fullerton College, taken ENGL 100 and passed with a C or better, enrolled in 12 units or more in a semester, have a 2.5 or better GPA, and lastly, you must be at least 18-years-old to participate.
