As Election Day approaches on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024, make your voice heard by voting. Every vote matters!
Here is some information to help you participate in this 2024 election.
To participate in the 2024 Presidential Election, you must be registered to vote. The State of California mails a ballot to registered voters a few weeks before the election. Make sure to do your research and fill it out at home.
You can vote in person at your local voting booths. If you have voted in California before you do not need to bring ID, however, if you are voting for the first time you are asked to provide a driver’s license number, California identification number, or the last four digits of your Social Security number. You have the option to fill it out ahead of time or complete it at the voting booth.
If you have signed up to receive notifications via email, text, or voice messages, you can keep the status of your ballot, or on California’s website.
Important voting deadlines:
California sends ballots to actively registered voters – from Oct. 7 to Oct. 26,
Early voting – Varies by location
Return ballot by mail – Nov. 5
Return ballot in person – By 8 p.m. on Nov. 5
Voting expresses your beliefs and priorities. This has an impact on everyone and everything, like public services, local laws, schools, and your community.
