Cypress College took part in the Great California Shakeout in preparation of an actual emergency earthquake. The drill prepared students for safety procedures on how to drop, cover, and hold on essential to prevent injury or death. Marc S. Posner, Public Information Officer for Cypress College, stated, “It went very, very smoothly today. Our evacuations from the start of the video until we called the all clear was half an hour, so it was a good outcome.” Video of the event featuring interviews with students, participants, and the president of Cypress College, Bob Simpson, is being developed and will be up shortly.
