The Cypress College Legacy and Puente programs will hold the grand opening of their centers this Thursday, Sept. 22 from 4:00-7:00 PM in the Humanities Building rooms 124 and 128.
Among the events throughout NOCCCD lined up to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, the grand opening of the centers is the only event held on the Cypress College campus.
The event will begin with a social hour from 4-5 PM and then the program from 5-7 PM.
Those who attend will witness the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the unveiling of the anticipated Puente Center mural. The mural, painted by Obed Silva, is described on the Puente program’s Instagram as “[telling] a different story about the history of Puente and the Latino past overall.”
In addition, attendees can indulge in other amenities throughout the night. There will be Mexican and soul food, a mariachi band and drummers as entertainment, student and parent testimonials, and more!
For entrance, R.S.V.P. is required and a link to do so is provided in the Instagram bio @/cypress_puente. The flier with a QR code can also be found on the program’s Instagram and on the Cypress College website.
If unable to attend live, the event is scheduled to be live-streamed via Viemo at Grand Opening: Legacy and Puente Centers (vimeo.com).
