Cypress College’s Business Club focuses on informing students of current business knowledge and opportunities, as well as how to be successful within the business field. This year, the club appointed one of the largest, if not the largest, board among all clubs on Cypress College campus. With 15 officers, the Business Club plans to make this year unforgettable for their members.
This past semester, the officers had a bonding session in order to get to know each other more. The event was planned by Event Coordinator Isaac McDonald who said, “The new Business Club officer team had fun bonding over bowling at Westminster Lanes, getting to know one another better and enjoying the enthusiasm emitted by all members. The club officers have worked well together throughout the school year and look forward to spending more time together both on and off campus as the year progresses.”
“The Business Club organized workshops and meetings, which helped in building advantages of long-term networking connections with business professionals,” said Vice President Prabhjot Repal.
Cypress College Business Club took part in hosting Accounting Career Day, one of the most anticipated events of the year. Speakers from large accounting firms, like Deloitte and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), were present for students to connect with. Accounting Career Day consisted of presentations from accounting firms, followed by a session for students to build connections with the speakers.
Like every year, the Business Club was present at the Associated Students Pumpkin Bash. This year, the club hosted a bean bag toss that was fairly popular among the children.
Event Coordinator Isaac McDonald, Co-Marketing Coordinator Linh Bui, and Student Ambassador David Chov were all in attendance to volunteer at the booth. The Business Club’s theme was 80s Rock, so the present officers dressed up to fit the theme.
Chov said, “Pumpkin Bash provided me with the opportunity to better connect with the community as well as offer a sense of inclusivity. It was fun putting a smile on other people’s faces.”
The Cypress College Business Club officers work closely and collectively in order to provide a memorable, productive year for the members.
