The academic environment at Cypress College is vibrant and stimulating, and locating the ideal study space may greatly improve the educational experience of any student.
Cypress College offers a range of study areas for every student, whether they like the hustle and bustle of campus or the peace and quiet of the library.
Students can utilize all the various study spots throughout the semester, especially during the busy seasons on campus, including midterms and finals.
On campus, the most widely known study spots are the library, the study rooms, and the outdoor tables all around campus.
According to EHL Insights, the best study spot needs to enhance the ability to concentrate, learn, and retain important information.
The majority of students at Cypress College revealed that their study spot needs to be a quiet study space.
Sumin Kim, a political science major at Cypress College, said that her favorite place to study on campus is the library, “I genuinely love the huge space and the ability to focus in a quiet area without any distractions.”
Another student, Maddie Vuong, majoring in business and marketing said that she also prefers the environment of the library, “Even though I don’t look forward to studying, I enjoy going to the library with my friends. Since we are doing homework we don’t talk but just being in that space with them keeps me motivated and productive.”
Even though the majority of students at Cypress College study, the ability to be productive during that study time is difficult for most students. According to one survey conducted by the National Survey of Student Engagement, most college students spend an average of 10–13 hours per week studying, or less than 2 hours per day and less than half of what is expected. Only about 11% of students spend more than 25 hours per week on schoolwork.
Cypress College provides a variety of study environments catering to different preferences and needs. However, the majority of students favor the comfortable chairs and designated study spaces that the library provides. This kind of environment encourages students to stay focused on their studies during the busy study seasons throughout each semester.
