After a mild winter break, Cypress College students, staff, and faculty returned to campus to begin the Spring 2025 semester. To help students adjust to their schedules and be of aid, Cypress has been providing different resources for their return.
Here is a list of services that are being offered this semester as well as any correlated deadlines.
The Charger Book Pass
Students are automatically enrolled in the Charger Book Pass Program which charges every student a flat sum of $100 for all required course materials. If students prefer not to participate in the program, they must opt out by Tuesday, Feb. 18. Learn more about the program on the Charger Book Pass page on the Cypress College Website.
The Charger Food Pass and New Student ID
This pass allows all enrolled students access to a $12 daily voucher, attached to their student ID through a QR code that will be scanned as they check out. Students must pick up their new ID card at the Admissions & Records Photo ID Booth during normal business hours. They must bring their old student ID, a photo ID, or a spring schedule/bill.
Students must get their new student IDs to access the Charger Cafe, check in at the Library/Learning Resource Center, and access other important resources on campus.
Parking on campus
Parking on campus will require students to pay a $40 fee for an automobile and $20 for motorcycles to receive a physical pass. Students can pay for their permit online and in person; however, note that in-person services may have increased wait times during the first weeks of school. Students are encouraged to use the online registration option. The first two weeks of the semester are free, but enforcement will begin on Feb. 18.
Add and Drop Dates
Students are still able to add courses to their schedule with add codes provided at the course instructor’s discretion. The last day to add a 16-week course with an add-code is Monday, Feb. 17, which is also the last day to drop a course without a ‘W’. The late-start class deadline varies and can be found in the College Scheduler. Students should determine whether they want to add or drop a class as soon as possible.
Some other services that Cypress College offers its students include the food pantry, diaper pantry, lactation pods, CalWorks application support, mental and physical health services, financial aid, transfer, and academic support services.
