This year has brought us several great film releases, those being movies and television shows as well as future films that we are currently anticipating.
While we are still stuck at home, we have lots of time to spend watching streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu, Disney +, and more which led to me wondering, what have Cypress students enjoyed watching this year and what are they looking forward to see?
Student Ramiel Pedraza has two movies that he really enjoyed watching, Zack Snyder’s Justice League and Godzilla vs Kong. He added, “Godzilla vs King Kong was a pretty good movie, I saw it on HBO Max but I felt like the experience would’ve been 10x better on the big screen. Although the plot was just a tad bit questionable, it was still really cool to see the fight unfold once again 60+ years later.”
He also stated that there were not any shows or upcoming releases that he is looking forward to.
Student Sahib Mann stated that he enjoyed Raya and The Last Dragon and that he is looking forward to Black Widow in July.
Student Marcus Bognot also enjoyed Zack Snyder’s Justice League, he added “it was great to see a director get his vision realized and I myself have been a DC fan for a long time.” He also stated that he is “excited to see the new Suicide Squad movie coming out as James Gunn is a director that always has fun movies to watch.”
Student Devin Engle also agreed that Zack Snyder’s Justice League is his favorite movie from 2021. His favorite show has been WandaVision and he is looking forward to two upcoming releases, Spider-Man: No Way Home in December and the Loki series in June.
Me personally, I enjoyed the Netflix short film Two Distant Strangers, one reason why I wanted to see it was because the main actor also happens to be rapper Joey Bada$$ who’s music I enjoy very much. I am also looking forward to Spider-Man: No Way Home in December and Space Jam: A New Legacy in July.
