Cypress College President JoAnna Schilling, Ph.D., released an email providing students with information regarding the delivery of the NOCCCD vaccine mandate November 1, 2021, deadline with more details to be provided soon.
- Students currently taking classes on-campus this semester must remember.
Students attending on-campus courses will be required to submit a record of full vaccination status to their campus although submission details will be released soon. Individuals that seek exemption due to medical/religious reasons must submit proper forms for campus approval before the November first deadline. Information regarding the application process for exemptions is set to be released on September 15, 2021.
Those who fail to submit proof of full vaccination status or have an approved exemption by the November deadline will submit themselves to weekly COVID-19 testing through the end of the Fall semester.
Testing will be performed for free on-campus, details about the testing process will be announced soon.
- Individuals who visit campus for services that do not attend on-campus classes must know.
Those who seek indoor campus facilities that are not completely vaccinated by the November deadline may be asked to show proof of their current status. This may be in the form of evidence of vaccination, an approved exemption, or a recent negative COVID-19 test.
The request for proof of status is dependent on adherence to the facilities’ posted safety measures. The option to access services online or use a different facility may be offered if unable to show proof of status.
- Options for on-campus students, not vaccinated, with no approved exemption and decline to get tested weekly
Students who decline to submit to testing may petition for an “excused withdrawal with refund” (EWR); move to an online class, if available; or receive an “incomplete” for the course, if approved by your instructor for the Fall semester.
- To demonstrate proof of vaccine completion privately students must understand
Records of vaccine status will be kept private and secure following HIPAA Privacy Rules. The exact process to upload documents to a secure website with appropriate approval will be released on September 15, 2021.
- The Spring 2022 Semester plans in place
Any student who decides to attend on-campus courses must demonstrate full vaccination status or be approved for medical/religious exemption before enrolling.
For the spring semester, weekly testing will only be available for unvaccinated students with approved exemptions attending in-person classes on campus.
If the correct documentation has not been filed, students will not be allowed to register for on-campus courses for Cypress College, Fullerton College, or NOCE.
