North Orange County Community College District alongside Cypress College and their sister school Fullerton College will be celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month during September and October. The events will kick off on Sept. 14, and end on Oct. 15.
Hispanic Heritage Month is an annual celebration that begins on Sept. 15 and ends on Oct 15 in the U.S. to recognize the influence and contributions of Hispanic Americans to the history, culture, and achievements of the United States.
Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated to spotlight the unique voices and experiences of Hispanic/Latino Americans and to recognize their history, journeys, and achievements.
Cypress will have their Hispanic Heritage Month celebration on Thursday, Sept. 19 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the pond located behind the Student Life and Leadership Building.
Cypress will have a presentation on Bad Bunny, Identity, and Resistance on Oct. 1 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the College Complex, or CCCPLX, Room 406.
There will be an International Fair near the Fine Arts Swing Space on Oct. 3, from 12 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., and on the same date there will be a student presentation debate from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the CCCPLX-216.
On Oct.8 from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. there will be a Hispanic Professional Panel via Zoom. The meeting ID is: 865 7628 7468
On Oct. 9 there will be a presentation and panel at Fullerton College, Cypress College’s sister-school from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Social Science Building room 1440
Cypress will have a Hispanic Heritage Awards Clip at CCCPLX-216 on Oct. 10 from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Fullerton College will have an Indigenous People’s Day presentation on Oct. 14 from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Humanities Building room 107.
To close the celebrations there will be a program: Compassion for the Undocumented Students in a Classroom: A Pedagogical Perspective on Oct. 15 from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. via Zoom. The Meeting ID is: 854 844 76 992
