Cypress College women’s volleyball started the 2026 season strong and is now looking to carry that momentum into Orange Empire Conference play.
The Chargers currently sit at 7-5 overall and 0-1 in conference play. Even after dropping their last two matches, Cypress has won seven of its last 10 games.
Addison Riddle has been one of the players making an impact for the Chargers. During Cypress’ 3-1 win over Citrus College on Sept.12, Riddle led the team with 23 kills, along with 13 digs and six service aces. She finished with 29 points and a .365 hitting percentage.
Riddle wasn’t the only Charger putting up numbers. Sianelei Purcell recorded 29 assists and 13 digs against Citrus, helping Cypress finish the match with 49 kills, 67 digs and 10 service aces.
After a successful stretch of nonconference games, Cypress opened conference play against Riverside City College. The Chargers fell in four sets, suffering their first conference loss of the season.
With conference play officially underway, the young Cypress squad will have a chance to see how it matches up against some of the tougher competition in the Orange Empire Conference.
