The Cypress College Theatre Department will open its production of “HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical” this Friday, Mar. 11 at 7 p.m. in the Campus Theatre.
“Hair” tells the story of a tribe of New York hippies in the midst of the Vietnam War in 1967, fighting the draft and indulging in civil disobedience through counter-culture and the sexual revolution of the time.
The production is directed by Arthur Ross with choreography by Keenah Armitage, with David Anthony leading musical direction.
7 p.m. performances will be on Mar. 11, 12, 18, and 19, and on Mar. 13 there will be a 4 p.m. performance.
Tickets can be purchased at cypresscollegetheatre.com. Students can purchase tickets for $15, and general admission is $20.
All audience members must wear face masks for the duration of the show and give proof of COVID-19 vaccination to be granted entry.
