The Cypress Men’s Soccer team just couldn’t get it done.
The Cypress’s Men Soccer team battled it out on October 22nd versus Irvine Valley College. Both teams played a hard fought match, however, I.V.C. left the soccer field victorious with a 4-1 win versus the Chargers.
The first half was very physical, both teams were given over 3 yellow cards. Slide tackles were being made, shirts were being pulled, and bodies were flying all over the field. Fans in the stands were complaining and shouting to refs on how rough the players were playing.
Irvine managed to score two goals in that first half. While there was still extra time left in the first half, Cypress’s Antonio Alcala got passed the defenders and kicked one right through the goalie to give the Chargers some hope ending the half at with a 2-1 score.
During The Second half the Chargers struggled because they were getting out hustled and their fouling was costing them the game. Irvine took advantage of free kicks, which led to two more goals in the second half, ending the game with a score of 4-1.
