The Cypress Chargers Women’s Water Polo team (6-9) were defeated Oct. 9, in a conference duel versus the Riverside Community College Tigers (15-0).
Cypress struggled getting the ball in the net throughout the whole game and the team only scored 4 goals. They had plenty of opportunities but the Tigers’ goalie played a superb game with 9 saves.
“Well we have a young team this year and I definitely think we have improved since the beginning of the season drastically. Today, Our girls were creating opportunities and we were just not capitalizing off of all of them,” said assistant coach Rick Fierro. The Chargers played a great team who were also undefeated. Cypress went down 4-17 points that day.
Cypress went into a tourney this week after their match up against the Tigers, playing 4 games and winning 2 out of the 4. The Chargers record now falls to 8-11 after the tournament and will face Orange Coast College at the Pirate’s pool this Oct. 16, at 3 p.m.
