Uehara, faced single season hit leader, Matt Carpenter. After a tough battle at the plate, Uehara managed to strikes out Carpenter to give the Red Sox their first championship title at Fen-Way Stadium.
Fans were jumping, yelling, pushing and screaming, “Boston Strong” was indeed in full effect that moment.
