The Associated Students 2026 general election is underway, all students have an opportunity to vote.
Voting for the general election for Associated Students is now open, and it will close on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Preliminary Results will be announced on Monday, March 23, 2026, followed by an appeal period of seven days. The final results are set to be scheduled to be ratified at the Associated Students regular meeting on Monday, April 6, 2026.
Students received a notification through Canvas informing them about the election and how to cast their vote.
To vote, students have to join the Cypress College Associated Students Canvas page. The candidates that win will represent the students of Cypress College for the 2026-2027 academic school year.
The presidential candidates are Geralyn Ibarra and Hayden Le. The candidate for student trustee is Ahmad Haidari. The candidates for vice president of internal and external affairs are Ian Dumatol and Namleen Verma.
Running for vice president of campus activities is Josue Coslaya and Pablo Hernandez Cruz.
Ayesha Arif is running to continue serving as vice president of fiscal affairs. Nixon Lara and Helen Vu are running for vice president of fiscal affairs.
Yessenia Oseguera Flores is running for vice president of public relations. Priyasi Patel and Kyle Phan are running for executive secretary. According to the Cypress College Associated Students canvas page under CCAS General Election 2026 – Candidate Statement Yessenia Oseguera Flores is the only candidate running for vice president of public relations.
Noor Aldain Alseragi, Narin Chung, Samantha Reyes and Raghad Abu Rezeq are running for activities coordinator. Lastly, Amanda Kennedy and EJ Kim are running for AS senator.
AS encourages students to review the candidates for the election before casting the ballots.
