The suspect who was arrested for assaulting three female Cypress College students has been identified and is awaiting a hearing on Oct. 15, 2024
Ian Campos, a 38-year-old man was arrested on the charges of sexual assault by the Cypress Police Department on Sept. 25, after three females reported that Campos forcefully kissed them and touched them inappropriately. He was booked at the Orange County Jail on Sept. 30 and will remain there until his hearing.
Superior Court of California has charged Campos with one count of kidnapping to commit robbery, rape, oral copulation, or sodomy, one count of assault with intent to commit sexual offense, three counts of sexual battery, and two counts of battery. Campos has not been convicted but is awaiting arraignment and hearing bail on Oct. 15, 2024
This comes after an email from the campus communications reading “Timely Warning” was sent to students and faculty from Marc S. Posner, Director of Campus Communications informing students of Campo’s actions on Sept. 19, 2024
In the 2024 Cypress College Annual Crime Report issued by the Campus Safety Department, there have been no cases of assault but there were two cases of fondling and one case of dating violence in 2023.
Students, staff, and faculty have been reminded to report any incidents or suspicious behavior to Campus Safety or Cypress Police immediately.
