Submissions for the 2024 student art show are due between Monday, April 22, and Wednesday, April 24.
The art show is accepting works from all visual and performing arts disciplines. Students who participated in a Visual and Performing Arts class are allowed to submit two works that they have created between May 2023 and April 2024. At least one of the two pieces will be displayed in the show and both if space permits.
To submit work to the show, students are required to fill out the submission form provided for the event, which can be received in the Visual and Performing Arts office or via download on their website cypresscollegeart.com/students-show-2024. More information about guidelines for submitted art can also be found there. Once the form has been filled out and the art is ready for submission, students must take both the form and work to the art gallery where it will be collected by staff.
There are some limitations to the work that can be accepted; if students wish to submit a piece larger than 5ft x 7ft or want to submit a less traditional work such as doing a live performance, students can contact CCAGstudentsshow@gmail.com for more information.
The exhibit will take place from Tuesday, May 7 to Monday, May 20 with an opening reception taking place on May 7 from 6-8 p.m. in the Cypress College Art Gallery. Students will be able to collect their work from the gallery on May 20 starting at 10 a.m. and ending at 4 p.m. Students will need to bring their student ID cards when collecting their art from the gallery.
