Cypress and Fullerton College have joined together to provide students a study abroad opportunity in London, England the summer of 2024 for English 104.
Study abroad programs are any student’s dream, especially those who want to travel. Cypress is offering just that with trips in London, Paris, Kyoto, Munich, and Lisbon. There have been many successful trips going as far back as 2014 at both schools. This upcoming summer both schools are offering an English 104 transferable credit to study in London, England.
Applications for this trip are now open, this opportunity includes housing, a travel pass, exclusive tours to museums, guided tours, a trip to Oxford University, and optional excursions.
Eligibility requirements include, completion of English 100 or 101 with a “C” or better, 12 units in one semester completed, demonstration of academic success at the college level, and must be at least 18 years of age.
This trip will include housing in a twin bedded room with a local homestay family which is typically a 45-70 minute commute to the Study Center. There will be a daily continental breakfast served, that includes tea, coffee, toast, yogurt, cereal, and fruit. There will also be access to Wi-Fi, the kitchen for lunch and dinner meals, and one load of laundry a week.
This trip also includes a London transport pass with guided tours of London, activities including Highgate Cemetery, the Young V&A Museum, Foundling Museum, the Tower of London, the Globe theater, a performance at a Jazz cafe, and walking tours of Camden and London’s punk scene.
Depending on how many students apply and go on the trip, prices vary from $4975 – $5495, not including airfare or the cost of the class.
Steps to apply for the trip include, getting a passport, contacting the financial aid office for possible student loans or scholarships, and meeting with a counselor.
Another highlight included is medical insurance and an overnight excursion to Oxford. There is an optional excursion to Edinburgh, Scotland which is a 3-day, 2-night stay with round trip travel in a standard class train. With that is two nights hotel accommodation in multi bedded rooms in Edinburgh with daily breakfast and a group dinner, and a walking tour of Edinburgh Castle for an extra $650.
