The beginning of February holds an important date for Cypress College students looking to graduate in the Spring of 2023. Cypress College announced on its website that the first day to apply for Spring graduation and vocational certificates was on Oct. 31, 2022. This year the deadline to apply for spring graduation will be on Feb. 17, 2023.
Students will need to apply through the Cypress College website by searching for the Admission and Record page.
Students are advised to speak to counselors before selecting the type of application for the reason that different degrees have different applications.
Students that are following a California State University (CSU) academic plan or Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) academic plan will also need to apply for the CSU or IGETC certification as well. Not doing so won’t verify that the student has completed the general educational classes.
Completing the CSU or IGETC certification will allow students to not be required to retake general education classes at the 4-year universities. The application will be located on the “Graduation” tab. The deadline for the certification will hold the same date of Feb. 17, 2023.
It is imperative that students looking to graduate after the Spring, speak to a counselor and complete these applications to graduate.
Ben De Guzman, a Political Science major, shared how completing the graduation deadline has allowed him to feel less stressed this semester.
He stated,” I completed my graduation applications early this month with a counselor just to get over with. I could say I have less to worry about now.”
