With election season in full swing, and the political ads all over YouTube and everyone’s televisions, I think it’s time to share my thoughts on the whole election.
My initial thought about elections is that I can’t wait for it to end. The fact that I get political ads all over my YouTube feed and almost every commercial is a political ad about each candidate is quite annoying. Other than the fact that I think the ads are annoying, like any other ad, I genuinely wonder if the things they’re saying are even true or if they’re making stuff up to get people gullible enough to believe it and change their opinion on a certain candidate.
I am not really into politics as a whole. I couldn’t care less about several issues that people tend to fight over with each other over the internet. I don’t pay much attention to what goes on in the political world either, because it doesn’t make sense to me.
The world of politics is confusing as a whole. One party wants one thing, and the other party is totally against it and they never agree on anything. I often wonder how anything ever gets done within the government if both parties can hardly agree on many of the policies that are put in place.
I know a large percentage of people who don’t trust the government to make the right decisions or trust them with our information. I’m not a huge fan of conspiracy theories but the whole “the government is spying on us” mindset is fascinating.
The only election that I’ve paid attention to this year outside of the presidential election is the Congressional elections. In California, we’re a heavy-blue state, and based on the electoral college system, the state’s voting for Harris/Walz in the presidential election.
Now, I think voting is important for everyone and that the beauty of this country is the right to vote which gives you a way to voice your opinion, but, I still feel like the people in this state’s votes don’t matter in the Presidential election because the state’s going to vote blue.
I won’t endorse nor do I know whom I’ll vote for in the upcoming presidential election, I still feel the most important part of election season is to make your voice heard and vote.
