Cypress College celebrated its first Veterans Appreciation Week with various events hosted by the newly built Veterans Resources Center, which was officially unveiled last mast month of Oct.
The Cypress College Foundation hosted the VRC Campaign Veterans Day Celebration on campus on Wed., November 10, 2021, and with NOCCCD Board approval served alcoholic beverages to attendees.
The NOCCCD Board Of Trustees also declared the week of November 8-12, 2021 to be observed as Veterans Appreciation Week last month in recognition of those who have served our country.
Members of the community are invited to attend the Veterans’ Resource Center Dedication Event on campus on the evening of Friday, November 19, 2021 according to the NOCCCD Board Meeting Agenda.
The Curtis Scheetz VRC Dedication Event serves to recognize the contributions made by the Scheetz Family.
The event will be held from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the quad area in front of the VRC. Admission to the event is free.
The celebration of individuals who have served our country continues throughout November as the VRC hosts a warmth drive between Nov. 3 and Nov. 24.
Everyone is welcomed to donate warm clothing including socks, jackets, blankets, etc., at the Veterans Resource Center, Building 8 which will be distributed to Veterans who have experienced homelessness.
Items can be dropped off Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m throughout the month. For more information and resources contact the VRC at (714) 484-7150.
