CYPRESS, CA- Amanda Fama made Cypress history as the first softball alum to represent the Chargers in the Olympics when she took the field on, July 20, for the Italian Softball National team. Fama spent three seasons with the Chargers from 2008-2010 before transferring to Concordia University, Irvine
Fama faced off against the United States in the first game of her Olympic career. After falling short to the United States, 2-0, team Italy played Australia losing another 1-0. Amanda played shortstop and batted second for Italy in both games, notching the first hit of her Olympic career against Australia.
While at Cypress, Fama had a legendary career winning one state championship (2010) and three OEC championships. Amanda etched her name into the Cypress record books thirteen times over her two seasons. Fama was inducted into the Cypress Hall of Fame in 2017.
